Ready to fly with Mogwai? The Scottish post-rock outfit has released a new video with “Simon Ferocious”. Acrophobes need not apply.
Amazing what you can do with a nice camera and some borderline insane cameramen. Some videos are complex works. Deep, symbol-heavy, and layered. Some just feature people jumping out of a plane. For all that, the new “Simon Ferocious” video is a thing of beauty. Gorgeous vistas and on-point cinematography provide a lovely backdrop for Mogwai’s trademark swirl of guitars. It also helps that their skydivers strike nice poses, instead of windmilling madly and screaming (unrealistic, if you ask us).
“Simon Ferocious” is a pick from recent release Rave Tapes, Mogwai’s 8th studio album. The band’s currently on tour in support of the album, and has even announced additional dates. If that’s still not enough Mogwai for you, good news, they’re also working on a reissue of their second album Come on Die Young. Good stuff, here’s the video.
