Riot Fest & Expo Announces 2014 Chicago Lineup Including The Cure, Jane’s Addiction and The National

Riot Fest is always something to celebrate, however this year there is even more of a reason because it’s the 10th anniversary. From Riot Fest veterans, to festival rookies the festival is bringing an eclectic array of artists.

September 12th through the 14th, be prepared for a colossal rager with headliners The Cure, Jane’s Addiction, The National, Rise Against, Social Distortion, The Flaming Lips, Weezer, Descendants, Samhain, Patti Smith, and Wu Tang Clan. Once again taking place at Chicago’s Humboldt Park, “anticipate a novel festival experience unlike one ever witnessed at Riot.”

Founder of the festival, Michael Petryshyn, comments on an extraordinary decade with gratitude, “Hard to believe it’s been 10 years. Really doesn’t seem it’s been all that long. But, my partner Sean McKeough and I are so very lucky that the fans believe in what we do…And I’m just as thankful that a good chunk of our friends from over the years are coming back to play and blow out a few birthday candles alongside us. Between both, that’s what makes this year special.”

Legendary band reunions and a handful of surprises are absolute, including a panel discussion by P*ssy Riot. Nadya Tolokonnikova and Masha Alekhina are Russian conceptual artists and formerly imprisoned activists that will be giving an interactive talk. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
