Comet Control is the newest addition to psychedelia and they are delivering their debut self titled album. mxdwn is happy to premiere the band’s latest single, “The Soft Parade.”
After breaking away from a previous rock group, Quest for Fire, Andrew Moszynski and Chad Ross started their most recent project with Nicole Howell, Jay Anderson, and Christopher Sandes. Comet Control’s eight song collection will debut on Tee Pee Records on May 20th.
Ross explains, “After Quest for Fire broke up, Andrew and I still had a lot of songs in the works. We are very excited about how things turned out. Everything clicked really fast with the new band, and the songs have taken a step in a fresh, new direction.”
“The Soft Parade”, much like Ultra Bright, describe the tracks vigor in their titles. It possesses the heavy footsteps of a parade in its tone, but lacks the harshness through tranquil vocals. You’re hit with an eccentric wash of color in the guitars and tight drums that create a cohesive bond. The music speaks for itself while creating a foundation for the serene vocals to rest upon. The chill inducing, edgy vibes exhibits a passionate tone. “The Soft Parade” is a burst of freshness driven by delicate reverb and funky guitar riffs.
