Austra’s taking some time off the tour trail (not too much) to throw their fans an EP bone. The always-busy Canadian trio are set to drop Habitat next month, and released the title track to sweeten the announcement.

“Habitat” isn’t exactly a new song. It’s been around, so the band says, for nearly three years. Sniff around Youtube for a bit, and you’ll dig up numerous live recordings, but no studio version – until now. Three original instrumental tracks will also make the EP.
The release comes one year after Olympa, the group’s sophomore album. Habitat will be available both in special, limited-edition 12″, and digital (which sounds way less cool than the first option) formats.
Check below for some solid electronica. “Habitat” makes the most out of its three-year buildup, and showcases Austra’s trademark brand of haunting, dreamy music.
