Andrew Bird Announces Summer 2014 Tour Dates, Announces Cover Album For June 2014 Release

Beginning June 6th, three days after Andrew Bird releases Things are Really Great Here, Sort Of…, the multi-talented singer-songwriter will embark upon a stacked North American tour with his band Hands of Glory. The new album showcases a compilation of cover songs from band The Handsome Family, and is available for pre-order here.

2013 saw the release of Bird’s EP I Want to See Pulaski at Night, as well as his support of Joshua Tree National Park with a performance of “Give It Away,” alongside Tift Merritt, in the desert.

Bird is following up to his 2012 full-length Hands of Glory, which he created with most of the band he’ll soon be touring with – this includes Merritt, as well as Alan Hampton on bass, Eric Heywood on pedal steel and Kevin O’Donnell on drums. For the tour, he’ll be supporting an album that celebrates the work of Brett and Rennie Sparks, a husband and wife duo known for their old-school rock ‘n’ roll pop, mixed with bits of vintage country.

On their upcoming tour, Bird and Hands of Glory will be all over North America, including stops at Bonnaroo and the Ottawa Blues Fest. See below for a complete listing:
