Cat’s Eyes second album won’t be normal sophomore record, as they’ll actually be recording a full-length feature soundtrack. The film is the Duke of Burgundy, directed by British director Peter Strickland, with the film being the first by Strickland since his Berberian Sound Studio
debuted in 2012.
The duo, made of The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan and Rachel Zeffira, a soprano and multi-instrumentalist, has already made quite a name for themselves, playing their first live concert in the Vatican during mass, and releasing their self-titled album to critical acclaim, and you can check out the video for track “Face in the Crowd” here.
Badwan is still very much involved with his larger band, with Fall tour dates being announced for the Horrors, and new video release for their song “So Now You Know” last month. The film The Duke of Burgundy is expected to debut late in 2014, so be on the lookout for it and its Cat’s Eyes-only soundtrack.
