Musicians age differently. Some (e.g. Rolling Stones) not so gracefully, but others pull off the process with aplomb. Walter Schreifels, one of the true veterans of the New York music scene, is one of the latter variety. And now he’s set to tour.
Schreifels has been active for around three decades. He had his start playing for hardcore NY outfits, including Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today. More recently, he’s spent time playing for the post-hardcore band Quicksand, as well as Rival Schools and Moondog. Add to that an eclectic solo career and some work as a producer…well, the guy stays busy, let’s keep it at that.
The upcoming tour is indeed a solo one, despite the recent reunion shows he’s played with Gorilla Biscuits and Quicksand. Four dates on the right side of the US have been confirmed for now, no word if we can look forward to any additions. Check below for tickets and dates.
