Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ is proud to announce that the next band streaming live from their webcast will be Ventura County natives, The Neighbourhood. As usual, the live performance will begin at 5pm on Tuesday, April 22nd, and will be replayed for the following 24 hours.
Sometimes stylized as “THE NBHD,” The Neighborhood is described as a mixture of atmospheric indie rock, electronica, with hip-hop beats and R&B-inflected vocals. Last April the band released their first full length album I Love You, with their hit single “Sweater Weather”, which received heavy radio play. Returning to KROQ after performing at their Almost Acoustic Christmas in 2013, The Neighbourhood have toured with the likes of Imagine Dragons, performed at Coachella 2013, and opened for Arcade Fire and Lorde at an event called “Not So Silent Night.”
Recently hosting the Kings of Leon, Red Bull Sound Space has showcased many heavy hitters since it’s launch in October of 2011, such as Coldplay, The Black Keys, The Fray, PEPPER, Imagine Dragons, Blink-182, Maroon 5, Miguel, Flo Rida, Slightly Stoopid, and Nelly Furtado to name few. Once just a typical office space cluttered with cubicles, the Red Bull Sound Space is now a beautiful stage, evoking the spirit of underground rock and roll. KROQ listeners donated old audio equipment such as ‘40s-era radios, record players, and blinged-out boomboxes, which were crafted into one large piece of artwork that surrounds the stage.
