Hopscotch Music Festival Announces 2014 Lineup Including Spoon, Mastodon, and St. Vincent

Hopscotch Music Festival, the annual gathering of local and national talent from across all genres in Raleigh, North Carolina, has announced it’s 2014 lineup, which includes Spoon, Mastodon and St. Vincent.

The Festival began in 2010 and since then has grown from 130 acts to around 160 this year. Hopscotch has initially released 115 names for the festival, nearly half of which are acts from North Carolina itself. Last year, Hopscotch featured Big Boi, Spiritualized, and the Breeders.

Organizers hope that the work of Hopscotch’s former day party coordinator, Nathan Price, who was promoted to talent coordinator, will help the festival maintain its lively atmosphere. “My job was to maintain Hopscotch’s established identity and credibility while offering my take on what I thought would attract fans in 2014,” Price said in a prepared statement. “We wanted to highlight artists—both established and emerging—who are making incredible music right now, while also presenting Hopscotch’s usual roster of unorthodox and less obvious festival choices. I think we’ve found that balance so far.”
