Supergroup Antemasque has released another original track, just days after posting pictures of the group rehearsing and announcing the release of new track “4AM“. “Hangin in the Lurch” is by all accounts part prog rock and part punk rock. Upbeat and sassy, the song uses a hearty drum beat that makes the song sound punchier and more fun.
Antemasque is a combo group, made up of members of The Mars Volta, and Flea, best known as the former bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. After 12 years of making music together, The Mars Volta announced they were splitting up last January. Antemasque is already like a reunion though; Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, a former member of The Mars Volta, has announced that he’ll be contributing to the band. Flea’s no stranger either; he played bass on most of The Mars Volta’s first album, and contributed a trumpet park to their next one.
