WATCH: Miley Cyrus and The Flaming Lips Cover The Beatles’ “A Day in the Life”

There needs to be a new genre for this mash-up, the twerking queen and the psychedelic masters join forces to cover the music lords. Flaming Lips’ frontman has released a short video on his Instagram account giving us a glimpse of what’s cooking.

Recently Wayne Coyne announced the union over Instagram but no signs of music were shown – time was being spent rolling inspiration. Plus, Miley joined the seminal band on a recent concert in LA performing “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots”. So this is not exactly a surprise, however, it is pretty exciting to hear a little bit of what this collaboration may turn out to be.

You can hear/watch the small clip of the union between these music titans on Wayne Coyne’s official Instagram account.

News don’t stop here as – according to our friends at PRETTYMUCHAMAZING – Flaming Lips have spoken about plans to do an entire cover album of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (!!!) and it will include guest performances of Andrew VanWyngarden (MGMT), Tame Impala, Phantogram and Foxygen.

This would be the second cover album they release in recent times following their latest The Flaming Side of the Moon, which isn’t exactly a cover album but a companion piece to Pink Floyd’s game-changer production.

Keep it coming Coyne, we will never have too much.
