Tim Lambesis and Other As I Lay Dying Members Issue Separate Contradictory Statements About Status of the Band

It seems as though Tim Lambesis may have released information about As I Lay Dying’s plans before planned. The band was hoping to show fans the progress and future of the band when they were ready, but the As I Lay Dying website came out with a lot of that information already. The site discloses information on the band’s Christian views, Tim and Jordan’s musical future and Tim’s prison sentence.

Statements were released on the As I Lay Dying website discussing a bunch of information that many band members weren’t ready to disclose. In another statement, band members Jordan, Josh, Nick and Phil insinuated that Tim was responsible for the unexpected update. They stated the following.

Though [singer] Tim [Lambesis] is the only one with access to the AS I LAY DYING site, the rest of us have been releasing content through our personal social media accounts to reveal that we are carrying on in a new band. Our truest intentions were to make this unveiling interesting and exciting for anyone who has supported us over the past year. With information so instantaneous and disposable these days, we had hoped to show you how things were coming together rather than simply tell you.

It looks like there are some conflicting opinions on the future of the band. While the website’s version states that neither Jordan nor Tim plan on moving forward with music in the near future, the band’s other statement says, “we remain positive in our outlooks and look forward to sharing new music soon.”

Now that Tim is awaiting his sentence for attempting to pay for his ex-wife’s murder, the band’s fate will be mostly in the hands of Jordan. Lambesis was arrested in May of 2013 for attempted facilitation of murder. He plead not guilty but As I Lay Dying had to cancel their tour as trials ensued. Lambesis’ bail was set at $3 million originally and lowered to $2 million, at which point he was released on the lowered bail amount. As the trial continued, it was found that Lambesis’ mental state could have been greatly affected by his steroid use. Finally, in February of this year, he plead guilty to plotting to hire a hitman to kill his now ex-wife. He is currently awaiting a sentence, but will spend up to nine years in prison.
