Buzz Osborne Announces Summer 2014 Tour Dates

Buzz Osborne has been with the Melvins since 1984 and they most recently released Everybody Loves Sausages in 2013. Now Osborne is set to release his first solo album, This Machine Kills Artists this summer on June 3rd. He will be touring to promote and serenade us with his self proclaimed “molk” music (metal and folk).

Osborne’s new album, This Machine Kills Artists, will feature songs are not so far from what the Melvins are known for. He says this “make[s] sense because [he] write[s] 99 percent of the material.” He released a song called “Dark Brown Teeth,” which is an intense, yet beautifully unplugged, acoustic song. The rest of the album will be acoustic versions of classic Melvins’ songs as well as four original songs. The album will be the focal point for his tour and he will be performing his original songs and many others in his acoustic style.

Since this is Osborne’s first solo album and tour, he’s going to have the freedom to do everything his own way. It’s bound to be very interesting. Following the tour, the Melvins will be releasing another album, but it will not come out for a while so as to give Osborne the chance to succeed more on his own.

Osborne starts his tour on May 17th in Pamona California. Tickets will go on sale on April 4th, this Friday. Be sure to check him out. His unique style is going to be really cool to see live if you get the chance.
