Ready for some cowbell? Damn straight you are. Here’s some new material from drumming project Hew Time, check out “Nine Pan Alley” below.
Hew Time is Dale Crover, Joe Plummer, and Coady Willis. Now, some of our more astute readers will probably have this to say: “Why the heck does the band consist of a drummer, a drummer, and another drummer?” The only answer we can offer is down at the end of the article, go ahead and press play.
For the rest of us, Dale Crover is best known for his work with The Melvins, though he’s also played alongside Fantômas and – for a little while – Kurt Cobain. Plummer wields the sticks for Modest Mouse, and Coady Willis has put throne time in for both The Melvins and for Big Business.
Yes, lots of drummers. And “Nine Pan Alley” features, predictably, lots of drumming. It’s a showcase of what three wildly talented individuals from diverse backgrounds can do when you chuck them into a room with a lot of percussion instruments. Give it a listen.
