M.I.A. Announces Spring and Summer 2014 Tour Dates

M.I.A. will be touring North America and Europe this spring and summer and will be bringing ASAP Ferg along for the ride.

The tour is in support of last year’s album, Matangi. M.I.A. seems to be followed by controversy, and her latest album was no exception: the artist threatened to leak Matangi if Interscope Records took any longer to release it. A few days later, the album got its release date. Before that, M.I.A. was asking fans to help her fight the NFL’s lawsuit for briefly raising her middle finger during 2012’s Super Bowl halftime show. That battle is still being fought, with the NFL seeking $16.6 million from the singer/rapper. Earlier this year she also split from her management with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation due to disputes.

It’s not all bad news and controversy for M.I.A., though. Many of her tour dates include festivals, like the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, the Sasquatch Music Festival in Washington state, the Canada Music Week Festival and the first night of HARD Events shows in Miami.
