British performer Kate Bush has announced her first set of live shows in 35 years, entitled Behind the Dawn.
According to Rolling Stone, Bush will have 15-date residency spanning August and September at London’s Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith. The singer posted the news on her website, quickly crashing the site and becoming a trending topic on Twitter.
Bush began recording music in the late 1970s and has released 10 albums between then and now, including 2011’s Director’s Cut and 50 Words for Snow. She toured for six weeks in 1979, but has not performed live since. Numerous reasons have been given for the extended hiatus from live shows: physical exhaustion, a fear of flying and the accidental death of lighting director Bill Duffield during the 1979 tour.
