Nine Inch Nails Announce Tour Dates with Soundgarden and Death Grips

Wow.

You read the title right, the announcement is official, the tour is happening. Dates over July and August have been announced. Check ’em out below, once you manage to stop gaping for bit. Take your time, happened to us too.

Once you get over the craziness, it all makes a decent amount of sense. Yes, Trent Reznor hasn’t always been the kindest toward Chris Cornell, but both bands are coming off a banner year. Soundgarden are still riding the reunion high that ended a 14-year drought, and they’re celebrating the 20-year anniversary of opus magnum Superunknown with a rerelease and live performances of the album. Reznor’s been busy too (is he ever not), releasing Hesitation Marks last Summer, and since then getting wrapped up with the Beats online music service. Strangely enough, NIN is also celebrating a big 20-year anniversary – that of the obscenely successful concept album The Downward Spiral

And why not bring Death Grips? The Californian hip-hop outfit can barely move without making waves. Here’s hoping they can get previous touring difficulties out of their systems.
