LISTEN: Daft Punk and Jay Z Release Collaborative Track “Computerized”

A previously unknown collaboration between Daft Punk and Jay-Z surfaced today on a fan site for the French electro duo, and it’s generating all types of questions on how it came to be.

“Computerized” has arrived with no information on when the song was recorded, or if it will ever be released, but message boards have been buzzin’ about it from the second it showed up. One fan claimed Kanye West had produced the tune, but Pitchfork confirms that isn’t so. And Noisey did point out the keyboard line from the song comes from the
score Daft Punk did for Tron: Legacy.

Whatever the case may be, both artists behind “Computerized” just pulled off major performances and wins at the 2014 Grammys, including Daft Punk’s for Album of the Year with Random Access Memories, and Jay-Z’s for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, alongside Justin Timberlake on “Holy Grail.” So it seems like nice timing on the drop of this song.

“Computerized” also sounds much as you’d expect from a match-up between the two heavy-hitters, and much like Hova and the robotic twosome jumped in a Dolorean and headed back to ’83 to help put together the soundtrack for WarGames. Take a listen:
