The Decemberists Announce The Performance of Castaways And Cutouts Album at “V is for Victory” Benefit Concert

The sweet, folksy, rock group, The Decemberists are playing in Portland, Oregon on May 30th. While you should be excited for that alone, wait till you hear all the details about how they’re raising money to benefit the Victory Academy, a school that works to create a positive learning atmosphere for children with autism. If you’re in Portland, you should definitely come support the band, their music and their mission.

‘V is for Victory’ will help raise money for the Victory Academy, as explained above. The Victory Academy is part of Oregon’s public school system and they specifically cater to children with Autism by providing different types of learning atmospheres and creative opportunities. They are currently raising money to fund their new 18,000 square foot school building in Wilsonville, Oregon. The building will be built of 100% non-toxic materials and will allow for an increased student population through K-12. This is really a wonderful cause to support and The Decemberists are an awesomely talented band, so there’s no reason not to attend, do some good, and get comfortable with some real quality music.

The show will take place on May 30th, 2014 at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. The Decemberists are performing Castaways and Cutouts in full along with some extra items. The Decemberists haven’t headlined since August 2011, so they are likely to impress with some new material. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, March 7th at 12:00pm PST. Buy your tickets here. VIP packages will also be available and will include early entrance, a pre-show with The Decemberists and some munchies. This is so cool. If you’re in Oregon, go.
