WATCH: Vivian Girls Perform at Final Show in Brooklyn

This winter, Vivian Girls announced the end of an era: the band is no more. The trio broke the news in January, and played its final two shows this past weekend in Brooklyn and Manhattan, where the group got its start in 2007. As a main staple of the late 00’s low-fi, girl-group sound, the band achieved immense popularity and fittingly, sold out Saturday night’s Brooklyn show.

Cassie Ramone, Katy Goodman and Fiona Campbell had this to say about the breakup of the group, on the band’s website: “It’s been a long and crazy journey in the seven years since [the band began] and we feel as though the time has finally come to let our band rest in peace. It’s been an experience that we’ll look back on and cherish and we’d like to thank you for sharing it with us.”

Here’s some footage from the second-to-last show at Brooklyn’s Death by Audio. The band managed to fit in last plays of “All the Time” and “No” from its self-titled 2008 debut album, which also produced its arguably most popular track, “Where Do You Run To.”
