Baltimore indie rock duo Wye Oak will be releasing their fifth studio album next month, and have a tour schedule flush with festivals in support of it.
Shriek is set for release April 29, through Merge Records, and Wye Oak has already leaked a taste of it with “The Tower,” a track they premiered on NPR in January. The new sounds for the band can largely be attributed to their ditching of guitar for the latest album – singer Jenn Wasner opted to write the album on bass instead of guitar, which she’s more well known for.

Wye Oak kicked off their most recent tour in Charlottesville, VA tonight, and will be making stops at SXSW and Coachella as they wind through the states and parts of Canada. Joining them on a few dates will be a trio of their hometown comrades, Future Islands. See below for a complete listing of the band’s upcoming road shows:
