Philadelphia will be buzzing this May with the seventh annual Roots Picnic, organized by hometown boys The Roots, and its lineup featuring Snoop Dogg, Janelle Monae and many more.
Brought together by The Roots and Okayplayer, a music community founded by band drummer ?uestlove in the late ’80s, Roots Picnic will be held May 31st, at Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing.
The Tonight Show’s newest backing band, and maybe the busiest act in music, also have a new concept album nearly finished. The Roots are set to perform their own music at the festival, as well as back the one and only Snoop Dogg for his set. This fest will likely be legendary.
