This year the Revolver Golden Gods Awards come back home. The legendary Club Nokia in Downtown LA will be the scenario of America’s only hard rock awards show.
The event – sponsored by Epiphone – will be held on April 23 on the city of angels and this year’s nominees are only equaled by the performances. As usual, the show is expected to deliver one-in-a-lifetime collaborations alongside with spectacular surprises. Some highlights of the night will include Axl Rose as recipient of the James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award and Joan Jett being promoted to metal pantheon by receiving the Golden God Award (a first timer for female rockers). Our friends at Blabbermouth revealed Alice Cooper’s insights on the later:
No one deserves this award MORE than Joan Jett. She’s never compromised who she is — she’s a rocker through and through, I wish some of the younger bands had the balls that Joan Jett does!
Both honorees will perform, Axl Rose will be joined by his all time peers Gun’s N’ Roses and Joan Jett will join The Blackhearts. Check out a full list of nominees and performances after the jump.
