On a recent interview with Norway’s The Quietus electro-pop titans Portishead dropped the big news.
The English band is well-known for taking some time in between releases. According to guitarist/producer Adrian Utley the reason for this is all the other projects the trio is involved with, he added:
We’re clearing our schedules so we can get on with it, otherwise it will be another ten years
Even though the band is on the process of writing a full-length, it will take some time. One of the bands strengths – paraphrasing Utley – is that they are currently out of contract with any record label. Without the music corporation’s pressure on their back they can take as long as they want to release new material. No need for that as long as they keep delivering amazingness.
The band also prepares for summer festival madness as they headline two big ones in Europe in July, electro-rock Melt Festival 2014 in Germany and All Tomorrow’s Parties in England.
