Mainly due to safety concerns, Lady Gaga’s set was not approved. Gaga draws a huge crowd and based on the predictions, the show would produce more danger than it would be worth. However, she may still appear at SXSW in a different capacity.
Lady Gaga was set to perform on the massive Doritos stage, you know, the one that looks like a huge vending machine, but her segment has since been canceled. While there is no replacement show scheduled, there is talk of her being a keynote speaker at the festival. At least the festival designers are preparing for a safe event. However, hopefully they’ll bring Gaga back for some part of the show.
Gaga is currently promoting her new album ArtPop and she’s touring all over the US from May 4, 2014 – November 10, 2014. There will be plenty of time to see her live this year, so the SXSW cancellation shouldn’t be totally devastating to the Gaga fans out there. Keep up to date on SXSW to see if anything changes!
