Nick Oliveri Joins BL’AST!

Iconic mid 80’s surf hardcore band BL’AST has a brand new project and an even bigger new name on board. Nick Oliveri, known for Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss and Mondo Generator is joining forces with vocalist Clifford Dinsmore, guitarist Mike Neider and drummer Hoss Wright to fill out the band’s new album The Expression of Power, a not-so-subtle flip flop of their 1985 debut album and cult classic The Power of Expression.

The Santa Cruz-based, skate culture-influenced original group enjoyed moderate success throughout the mid and late 1980’s before fizzling out a bit when the members broke away to try separate projects. But last September’s Blood!, the re-mastered release of the band’s 1987 sophomore album It’s In My Blood apparently sparked an interest in getting back together. Dinsmore and Neider quickly recruited Oliveri and Wright to record some new material and come together for a few tour dates.

Oliveri is a seasoned veteran of the punk and metal scene and a diverse musician who can wear a few different hats as a talented vocalist and guitar player. Probably best known in the mainstream for his success with Queens of the Stone Age, Oliveri has branched out in recent years to form Mondo Generator.

The newly refurbished BL’AST has three tour dates on the books for now:
