WATCH: Polly Scattergood Releases New Video for “Subsequently Lost”

Ethereal, dark, intense and quirky, the British singer-songwriter releases a music video for a song from her latest album, Arrows.

Polly Scattergood debuted her self-titled album in 2009 and received mixed, but mainly positive reviews. In 2012, she released a new single “Disco Damaged Kid” to test the water, and the new album Arrows came out in 2013. The album consists of 10 songs, including the single “Wanderlust”. She then appeared in the lineup for SXSW 2013.

The new music video is a collaborative work with Tom Payne, who confessed that: “I’ve always thought Polly’s music had a very strong visual aesthetic to it, I really wanted to bring this out.”

Scattergood commented on the video:

Subsequently Lost is very close to my heart, it’s all about striving for something but never quite getting there and ultimately losing your mind. I loved the idea of the juxtaposition of the harsh reality and twisted fantasy, which is why we decided to go from the cinematic widescreen dreamscape asylum, to the close up reality.
