Swans Announce New Album To Be Kind Featuring St. Vincent for May 2014 Release

Having emerged in the New York No Wave scene, post-punk band Swans is to follow up their critically acclaimed last album, The Seer, with a new record to be released this May.

Swans’ last release The Seer was success. Featuring collaborations with Akron/Family, Alan Sparhawk, Mimi Parker, and Karen O, the album earned a Top 5 placement on the 2012 Album of the Year list by Consequence of Sound. Following the success, the band released a 10 minute version of feature song “The Apostate” and started a fall tour, which was postponed by Hurricane Sandy. The band also joined the lineup for Pitchfork Music Festival 2013.

Earlier last year, Swans released a special live album to raise money for the new album. According to Consequence of Sound, the new album is named To Be Kind, and it will feature guests including St. Vincent (Annie Clark), who just released her new song “Digital Witness” and its music video a few days ago. Cold Specks, Little Annie, Bill Rieflin and more will also make an appearance on the record.
