Jagwar Ma have released a new music video for the song “Uncertainty” from their latest album, Howlin. Take a look.
The moment the sound penetrated the ear the German synth-pop band Kraftwerk came to mind. A second later I was thinking, Men at Work’s “Down Under”, this is a dual connection, the band is in fact from down under, and have recently toured there.
This does have an 80’s pop feel to it. As the song “Uncertainty” progresses a harder edge emerges not unlike early NIN, or perhaps RHCP…minus the flea funk? The fact is, this is a good song and it leaves you wanting just a little more, or a lot, depending upon ones state of mind and ability to “turn it up”. It should make you feel like putting the top down and heading for the highway, something most of us can only dream about at this point!
Their debut album, released mid-2013, is entitled Howlin and contains the track mentioned above. As you may guess from previous statements, it is ripe with musical influences from the recent and not so recent past, which is great because pop culture digests and regurgitates “sameness” far too much, in an attempt to follow the money.
