G. Love & Special Sauce Announce New Album Sugar for April 2014 Release

G. Love & Special Sauce have announced a new album dropping on April 20th of this year. The album, titled Sugar, will feature the recently released single “Nothing Quite Like Home”.

The band is back with it’s first album since Long Way Down was released in 2009. This new album sticks to the trio’s hip-hop/blues style that we have all come to enjoy. G. Love’s vocals combined with the bands smooth sound produces a chill and yet upbeat vibe that can appeal to many without compromising integrity. This is the first collaboration in the past 8 years between the original member of G. Love, James “Jimi Jazz” Prescott, and drummer Jeffrey “The Houseman” Clemens. The album Sugar, recorded in LA, still embodies these boys from Boston who produced their first album 20 years ago.

These three hard working fellas are hitting the road in celebration with a 45 stop tour, chump change for a band that still plays 150 shows a year. Each show will open with their entire debut self-titled album and finish with stuff from Sugar. The band also plans on beefing up by adding legendary vocalist and current Oscar nominee Merry Clayton, Los Lobos guitarist David Hidalgo, Marc Broussard, Eric Krasno, Shamarr Allen, Kristy Lee, and others.
