Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and composer Atticus Ross will collaborate on the score for David Fincher’s film adaptation of the novel Gone Girl.
The two men have not only worked together on movie scores before, but both times they were also for David Fincher movies – The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Pitchfork confirms that the team-up is happening, and also points out the winning combination: the score for The Social Network won an Oscar and the score for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was nominated for a Golden Globe.
Reznor is also featured in the upcoming documentary I Dream of Wires, about the history and comeback of the modular synthesizer. In December he denied that he was collaborating with Al Jourgensen, saying he hadn’t seen Jourgensen in years. Reznor isn’t just striking out on his own, though – Nine Inch Nails will release Nine Inch Nails Live: Tension this spring on Blu-Ray and DVD.
How to destroy angels_, a project featuring both Reznor and Ross, toured in the spring of 2013, when they performed live for the first time ever.
