The amazingly talented guitar duo of Rodrigo y Gabriela are gearing up for the release of their new album: 9 Dead Alive, set to hit stores April 28th.
The pair from Mexico are paying homage to their roots, playing the streets and small gigs of Dublin, Ireland. Gabriela wanted the album to play “As if the album was live at a gig, a small little gig… as if me and Rod were in your living room“. Rodrigo went on to say that these 9 tracks are void of Latin influence and are “purely rock“, despite his sentiment I think this is impossible. They play guitar with their souls, dazzling listeners with their passion, and part of their identity, of their souls are their Latin roots. What I feel Rodrigo means is that compared to Area 52, their last album, it will be. With that said, If they are happy with it, I sure will be too. This album shapes up beautifully with 9 tracks of finger picking awesomeness:
9 Dead Alive:
01: The Soundmaker
02: Torito
03: Sunday Neurosis
04: Misty Moses
05: Somnium
06: Fram
07: Megalopolis
08: The Russian Messenger
09: Le Salle Des Pas Perdus
