Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone, Dave Grohl and Lindsey Buckingham To Close The Grammys 2014 With Collaborative Performance

Queens of the Stone Age will head the 2014 Grammys finale, which will also feature Nine Inch Nails, Dave Grohl and Lindsey Buckingham.

This year, the latest album from Queens of the Stone Age, …Like Clockwork, has been nominated for Best Rock Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. In addition to these nominations, their track “My God is the Sun” is nominated for Best Rock Performance. There is arguably no better way for the band to top off a great year than to be the closing act at the awards ceremony.

The 56th annual Grammy Awards take place on Sunday, January 26, at 8 p.m. EST. The finale will have fellow nominees Nine Inch Nails and Dave Grohl perform with Queens of the Stone Age, as well as special guest Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac. Buckingham also appears on Nine Inch Nails’ latest album, Hesitation Marks.

The 2014 Grammys will be full of exciting performers, such as Daft Punk, Katy Perry, Paul McCartney and Imagine Dragons, among others. The list of nominees, while impressive as it should be, isn’t too shocking. In addition to the performing artists mentioned above, it includes Lorde, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, Sara Bareilles, Vampire Weekend and so many more. The Eurythmics are even reuniting this year for a Beatles Grammy special which will be taped January 27 and air on February 9.

2014 could be as promising a year for Queens of the Stone Age as 2013 was, seeing as they’re already planning on recording new LP in the fall and will be making appearances at numerous music festivals, including Rock am Ring in Germany and Hangout Music Festival in Alabama. If that’s not enough, they’re also touring for most of the first half of the year.

Nine Inch Nails recently parted with longtime manager Jim Guerinot and hired John Silva in his place. Despite the transition, the band will be busy with releases as well as performances in 2014, including the release of Nine Inch Nails Live: Tension on Blu-Ray and DVD and a documentary called I Dream of Wires featuring Trent Reznor. The group will also be playing at the Rock Am Ring Festival with Queens of the Stone Age, as well as the Vive Latino Festival in Mexico this year.

Dave Grohl, lead vocalist for the Foo Fighters, will see his former band Nirvana inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, the first year the grunge band was eligible for the honor. As man of many talents, Grohl also produced the cover EP, If You Have Ghost, by Ghost B.C.
