The indie pop group, who shot to success in 2012 with their debut An Awesome Wave, posted to Twitter on Saturday that Sainsbury was leaving the band, but showed support in stating it was “purely personal decision”. NME initially reported no additional news on whether the band was on the search for a replacement, but today the UK-based publication announced the band would definitely be continuing.

In a statement Alt-J provided NME the band disclosed the following:

The three remaining members of alt-J – Joe, Gus and Thom – and all at Infectious Music give their full support to Gwil and wish him only the very best for the future. Both Alt-J and Infectious would like to reassure fans that the band remain excited about the future and are set to return to the studio very soon to begin work on the follow up to 2012’s Barclaycard Mercury Prize winning ‘An Awesome Wave’.
