The funk/soul band is back after lead singer defeated cancer. The band celebrate their victory with a music video for “Stranger to My Happiness”, a single from new album Give People What They Want.
Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings started in 1996 and soon became the icon of revivalists for funk/soul music of mid-1960s to mid-1970s. Their 6th album was originally set for August 2013 release, but was postponed to January 2014 as lead singer fought with cancer.Now the band is back and about to start their winter tour this year.
They also recently covered “Goldfinger” for “The Wolf of Wall Street”. Their new album was released January 14, and a new music video for “Stranger To My Happiness” was released earlier.
In this video, the band is playing at a wedding. Yet as the video progress, it turns out that the wedding is long over and the band is rocking without any audience.
