Tool’s Maynard James Keenan’s side project, A Perfect Circle, just released a video of the band performing their only original since 2004. A well crafted documentation of the gloomy track
After a 6 year hiatus A Perfect Circle got together again in 2010 to hit the road and please fans all over. During this period the band released Three Sixty, chronological history of the band which compiled their favorite songs, some live performances and one new song: “By and Down”. The track also appeared on A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone and Echo, an in-concert album of their August 11, 2011 performance at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. Watch the immaculate interpretation of “By and Down” after the jump.
In the best MJK fashion, the dark tune lyrics talk about trying to get hold of an image of someone who has undoubtedly changed for the worst as he repeats “Searching your eyes for a hint or trace of humility”. The scenery, art and atmosphere couldn’t be more on point to deliver this message; as always, A Perfect Circle being just that.
