Succeeding what has been a a hectic year for Pixies and the success of the four-track EP-1, the bostonians hit the news again here at MXDWN with the release of their latest production EP-2 and its single Blue-Eyed Hexe. And yes, it does come with a worth-to-view video with it. About this track, Pixies’ frontman Black Francis says

It’s a tale from the northwestern part of the UK, and it’s a witch-woman kind of a song. That’s what a ‘hexe’ is, and ours is a blue-eyed hexe.” Guitarist Joey Santiago added, “Gil wanted a swagger, he wanted the guitar solo to sound like you’re going to have sex with this blue-eyed hexe

Recorded in October 2012 in Wales, UK, the sequel to their last release is available exclusively via Pixies’ site: pixies.music.com and contains four new songs ‘Blue-Eyed Hexe’, ‘Magdalena’, ‘Greens and Blues’ and ‘Snakes’. The songs come as a DDL (mp3 only), lossless DDL, limited edition 10-inch vinyl and as a part of special bundles. Featuring the unique artwork of Vaughan Oliver at v23, this release just comes as more news for a band that has given a lot to talk about in the past year.

To recapitulate: Kim Deal and Kim Shattuck were both ‘let go’ of the band and just recently announced the talented Paz Lenchatin on bass, the recent release of EP-1 and of course, their announced world tour kicking off January 15 including 33 North American shows and major European and South American festivals including Lollapalooza Brazil, Lollapalooza Chile, Lollapalooza Argentina, Rock Werchter and Estereo Picnic in Colombia just to name a few.
