Sharon and the Dap-Kings are back at it with a cover of the “Goldfinger” theme and their recently rescheduled album on the near horizon.

After being diagnosed with cancer in June, Jones announced that the original August release date for the new album would be pushed to January. Treatment proved to be successful, as well as surgery to remove a tumor, and Jones seems to be marking her return with a contribution to the soundtrack of Scorsese’ latest film, “The Wolf of Wall Street”. Sharon sounds great on the track, giving a nuanced yet powerful performance. It’s great to have her back.
Fans can look forward to the new album, Give The People What They Want, on January 14 as well as an accompanying tour which kicks off in February.
