Brenson and White get together at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium leaving Raconteurs’ fans (or music listeners for that matter) with high hopes for 2014.
The somewhat reunion of The Raconteurs came as not surprise; as previously announced on MXDWN by Jackie Ruth, Brendan Benson’s solo album release party included participations of Adriel Denae, Eric Burdon, Willy Mason and yes, Jack White, so it was fair to think that some sort of reunion was about to happen and both White and Benson delivered: they played fragments of Racounteurs songs “Hands” and “Steady As She Goes”, following their version of “Good To Me”, Benson’s original that White Stripes once covered. The stage was just perfect for the band’s revisit as they recently announced through their site a soon-to-come release of a live double LP and DVD of the Raconteurs September 2011 performance at the Ryman Auditorium via Jack White‘s label Third Man Records; the same way he announced the come back of Dead Weather, his solo project, and basically everything the music prodigy gets his hands on.
The several-times Grammy Award nominee band had a prosperous life before it’s members decided to take up on other priorities. Their debut full-length Broken Boy Soldiers earned them international recognition with performances in almost every major event out there: Reading Festival, Leeds Festival, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Coachella…etc. etc. etc. you name it.
Watch below some fan made footage of the performance.
