Electronic music group The Glitch Mob has announced the release of their sophomore album, Love Death Immortality, which will happen on February 11, 2014. It’s their first LP since their debut album Drink the Sea in 2010.

The Glitch Mob is a trio made up of Edward Ma, a.k.a. edIT, Justin Boreta, a.k.a. Boreta, and Josh Mayer, a.k.a. Ooah. Despite their somewhat recent increase in popularity, the band sold over 80,000 copies of Drink the Sea and the album is still in the iTunes Electronics Chart Top 10, three years after its release. The new album will still have The Glitch Mob sound that fans fell in love with, but it is also more progressive and, as Boreta puts it, “extroverted.” For those who want a taste of the new music, the group has released a music video for the album’s first single, “Can’t Kill Us,” which Mayer says is “the perfect bridge from our past to now.”
Love Death Immortality has an instrumental motif, but the trio added vocal collaborators on tracks as well, all of whom are female. Among the vocalists are Metal Mother, Sister Crayon and Nico Vega’s Aja Volkman. The LP is designed to be listened to from beginning to end, as albums used to be built. The new album is being released by the band’s own Glass Air Records. The Glitch Mob will also being going on a headlining tour in March 2014.

The new album will be the group’s first LP since 2010, but not their first new music since then. The Glitch Mob released Drink the Sea Part 2: The Mixtape few months after the first album debuted. They dropped an EP, We Can Make the World Stop, in 2011. That EP seems to be a stepping stone between the first and second full-length albums, which display the band’s progressions over time. Also in 2011, the group remixed Daft Punk’s “Derezzed” from the Tron: Legacy movie soundtrack.
