In celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Toronto’s North by Northeast Festivals and Conference (NXNE) looks to be pulling out all the stops next June: St. Vincent, Run The Jewels and Danny Brown headline the initial lineup, and bands from all over the world are set to join them.
Formed in 1995, NXNE showcases film, art, comedy, music and interactive panel sessions, and has grown exponentially from a 3-day event to a planned 10-day festival in 2014. The 2013 installment of NXNE featured over 1,000 performers, including Ludacris, BRAIDS and The National, and scored an attendance of 350,000.

UPDATE 2/25: NXNE has just announced a slew of lineup additions to their festival, with big names such as Spoon, A$AP Ferg and Tune-Yards joining the scheduled acts.
UPDATE 5/2: New to the NXNE roster are Future Islands, Pusha T, and AraabMUZIK. It has also been announced
NXNE is collaborating with VICE Media to transform Toronto Island into VICE ISLAND, a revamped version of VICELAND, which the two provided at SXSW this year. Those with wristbands and passes to NXNE will be taking a private ferry across Lake Ontario to witness this exciting piece of the festival.
