Flaming Lips celebrate the life of Sparklehorse’s founder Mark Linkous with a heartfelt version of “Sad and Beautiful World”. The project has a deep meaning to everyone involved and a strong and beautiful message: use music as a medium to open up a new dialogue about mental health issues.
Not long ago we announced how the non-profit organization Box of Stars – which seeks to generate mental health awareness through music – was leading the official Mark Linkous tribute album with appearances of bands such as Portugal. The Man, Joy Formidable, Phantogram and The Flaming Lips among others.
The organization is still raising funds to finish the record but for now you can check out The Flaming Lips’ contribution with the song “Sad and Beautiful World”.
