British indie-rockers Kaiser Chiefs have announced a new album, Education, Education, Education & War, set to drop this April via Liberator Music. Dates for a supporting Winter tour have also been announced.
Fans of the group may have noticed some interesting additions to their Facebook of late. Kaiser Chiefs have been coy, releasing several images of ominous-sounding anagrams, including “cautioned”/”action due”. Well, they finally broke the news, and their 5th album is confirmed. Education, Education, Education & War has an interesting origin story, as the album was written in London, Los Angeles, and Nashville. Bits and pieces have since been teased, including the song “Misery Company”, which also had a short trailer released alongside the announcement.
Kaiser Chiefs have some living up to do here. The band’s been shortlisted for a Mercury Prize, and has also picked up a handful of Brit Awards. They’ve described the new album as a “second debut”, and if the first taste of it we’ve gotten is any indicator, it’s a good one. Track listing, trailer, and tour dates below.
