A metal supergroup has been formed, called De La Tierra, and the debut, self-titled album will be released January 14th.
De La Tierra consists of musicians who have all been part of other well-known bands. The lineup includes Andreas Kisser, guitarist of Sepultura, Andrés Giménez, former leader of A.N.I.M.A.L., Sr. Flavio, bassist of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, and Alex González, drummer of Mana. The idea for the group started when a tour with Mana brought Gonzalez to Argentina, where he connected with Giménez, and the group added the final members from there. De La Tierra is set to be released January 14th, but the first heavy single, “Maldita Historia,” is already out in the world. About the album, Gonzalez said:
“There are some moments when you feel the world is coming to an end and others when the sky seems to open up, letting the light shine…It is metal that is fast, powerful, explosive, with lots of adrenaline. You have darkness and light. There is melody and also a lot of punch.”
