Punk rock veterans AFI have announced the second leg of a support tour for their new album Burials. The band has dates planned throughout January, playing sets throughout the South and East Coast.
Hard to believe these guys have been at it since 1991. It’s been nearly 25 years for them, and in that time, they’ve seen times both high and low. AFI shot to prominence with 2003’s Sing the Sorrow, the album that spawned mega-hit/song-you-couldn’t-get-away-from “Girl’s Not Grey”. Only two of the founding four members are left – Davey Havok and Adam Carson – but the band’s still going strong. Burials, released earlier this month, is their ninth album.
AFI seems to have a definite thing for warm weather. Wintering in the South is one thing, but what to do when the weather starts getting warm everywhere? The answer, if you’re an in-demand musical icon, is apparently to head down to the South American Lollapalooza tour. The band has sets lined up from Brazil to Colombia, but they’ll do the home circuit first. Tour dates and ticket link below.
