WATCH: Funny or Die Premieres “The Animated Tales of GWAR”

Funny or Die recently premiered a hilarious video about the animated counterparts to the insane heavy metal band GWAR.

It took animators Myke Chillian and Tommy Meehan two years working with the members of GWAR to create a cartoon based around the satirical metal band. All the hard work paid off, however, because Funny or Die finally premiered the cartoon, and it lives up to both the site’s name and the band’s ridiculous reputation. The story revolves around the startling transformation of front man Oderus Urungus from murderous metal musician to…a children’s musician. The rest of the band must then go on an epic journey to find the cure, and, in the meantime, Oderus has an interesting encounter with Weird Al. Fans of GWAR may remember that time Oderus Urungus did reading of “Goodnight Moon,” or that time Oderus Urungus got an internship with Fuse. The band was also invited to perform by The AV Club and were able to collect 30,000 signatures in eight days petitioning for certainly the most interesting Superbowl Halftime Show we’d ever see.
