The Belle Brigade begin 2014 with a new album, sure to be replete with their characteristic vocal harmonies and pop melodic sensibilities.
Bandmembers Barbara and Ethan Gruska are the grandchildren of grandaddy movie composer John Williams (he’s to Spielberg what Danny Elfman is to Tim Burton). The two formed their group during a break in Barbara’s constant touring as a drummer for various artists such as Inara George and Jenny Lewis, deciding to channel the rock pop stylings of Fleetwood Mac. Their 2011 eponymous debut sheened, shined and shimmered with the clean hooks of bygone eras and collected praise in the meantime, leading to appearances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “Conan”. Whatever the direction for the next album, it is sure to be pretty.
