Sean Hayes @ The Independent 11/8 & 11/9
SF’s own Sean Hayes plays two dates at the Independent this week. Born in New York City, Hayes grew up in North Carolina where he acquired a solid background in traditional American and Irish music. His own material combines these influences with generous helpings of San Francisco atmosphere, New Orleans joie de vivre, Rock, and Soul. You’ve heard him in the movies and you’ve heard him on TV: now’s your chance to experience Sean Hayes as a performer.
The spare sound of Hayes’ 2012 album Before We Turn To Dust haunts the ear like a hunter on the trail of memories through the wilderness of an absent mindset. The redeeming shrug and laugh of these sultry tracks stir the spirit while they rock the hips. Get yourself down to the Indo, and don’t fret: if you aren’t bringing someone to slow-dance with, odds are there’ll be plenty to go around.
