The Devin Townsend Project has released a video clip of “Kingdom” from the newly-released DVD component of The Retinal Circus.
It is the third video from the CD/DVD/Blu-Ray box set, which features 25 tracks and concert footage of Townsend. The first video clip from the set was “Grace,” in July 2013. Then, in September, video for “War” was also released. When Townsend performed The Retinal Circus live in 2012, it was sold out, but he streamed it online for fans to watch at home.
The latest video is a lesson in showmanship, with actors on a platform acting out the story of a proposal from the plot that The Retinal Circus weaves. Townsend sings and screams the lyrics while the story takes place in the background, and he stands out in a white suit and top hat. The whole performance flows well, melding the visuals and audio.
