Luscious Jackson is together again and singing about butts. Things get a little Mix-a-Lot in their new video for “#1 Bum”. Draw your own conclusions, but there’s no denying that “You are my male J-Lo” has to be in the running for best one-liner ever.
We’ve been waiting awhile on this one. The New York alt-rockers last release came in 1999. They reunited in 2011 and now, finally, we’re seeing their labors bear fruit. And package it in denim. “#1 Bum” is breathy, upbeat, and almost unfairly catchy. Check the music video out below. It’s safe for work, but might earn you a couple double-takes. Or a compliment, who knows – be brave and give it a play.

So what comes next for Luscious Jackson? The band’s sticking together for at least a few more months, and has appearances planned in November and December.
